Tony (Formerly King)
King is a handsome 9-year-old Bengal. He was used as a breeding male for most of his life and then surrendered to Arthur Animal Rescue. King did not receive adequate care in the first part of his life - his owners neglected to treat his entropic eyelids (while also breeding a cat with a genetic condition) and allowed him to contract FIV. Arthur Animal Rescue got King neutered and funded the surgeries for his eyelids. He was also shown love and companionship in his foster homes, allowing him to showcase his wonderful personality.
After waiting some time to be adopted, Purrfect Seniors stepped in to help find King a great home. King faced the challenge of being both a senior and FIV+ cat - two factors that often reduce adoption rates.. Purrfect Seniors gave King visibility and helped support his adoption by covering the cost of his adoption fee and sponsoring his future annual exams and vaccinations. Just after Purrfect Seniors celebrated King’s birthday on social media on October 10th, he received multiple adoption applications!
Today, his life has been completely transformed. He has been adopted by a wonderful family, is now called Tony, and has three brothers to play with! Tony is no longer used by his owners - he is loved my his family. He has a stable home full of joy and is finally getting the attention he is so deserving of.
Tony gets along just fine with FIV- cats, demonstrating that FIV+ cats can co-exist with healthy cats. FIV is a condition with many stigmas and false information surrounding it. FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives and make wonderful family companions.
Stories like Tony’s align directly with Purrfect Seniors’ mission. We are proud to have played a part in his story and to show that every cat, no matter their medical status or history, makes a wonderful companion.
