Artemis (Formerly Fendi)

Fendi is a beautiful 8-year-old female Bengal. When she arrived at SALT Rescue in St Thomas, Ontario, she had already gone through a lot in her life. Due to trauma, she had to have her front left leg amputated and also required dental work. SALT Rescue gave her the care she needed and she became available for adoption at PetSmart.

Bonnie at SALT Rescue contacted Purrfect Seniors to see if the organization could help Fendi. Purrfect Seniors did not hesitate to step in to help find Fendi the right home through the sponsorship of her adoption fee and her annual routine exam and vaccinations.

Less than 24 hours after her sponsorship went live in November 2025, Fendi’s family found her. They took her home and gave her a new name — “Artemis”. She is settling in beautifully and now has several pet siblings to keep her company, including another cat with only three legs! She has “adopted” her human sister and even sleeps with her at night. We are so thankful that they have welcomed her into their loving home.

Artemis’ story highlights the impact of our organization. By sharing her story and removing financial barriers to adoption, we helped her find her forever home quickly. As both a senior and a disabled cat — two groups with traditionally low adoption rates — Artemis’ success shows how sponsorship and advocacy can make a real difference.
