Tommy

Tommy's life changed when his previous owners made the difficult decision to surrender him to SALT Rescue after they were no longer able to care for him. Although losing his home was undoubtedly confusing and stressful, it wasn't long before Tommy's next chapter began.

SALT Rescue reached out to Purrfect Seniors to sponsor Tommy through our Sponsorship Program. We were happy to cover his adoption fee, along with his annual routine veterinary exam and vaccinations, helping make it easier for the right family to welcome him home.

That family turned out to be a wonderful couple with a special place in their hearts for orange cats. They also wanted to adopt an older cat, as they were aware that they have lower adoption rates. When they met Tommy, they knew he was the perfect addition to their home. Since his adoption, Tommy has settled in beautifully and has shown that age is just a number. Despite being a senior, he has a playful, kitten-like personality that keeps his family smiling every day. He is deeply loved and cherished, and it's clear that he has found exactly where he belongs.

Tommy has also made it clear that he wants to spend time outdoors. To make sure he could safely enjoy his time outside, his dad now takes him on daily supervised walks in the front yard. It's become a special routine they both look forward to and a wonderful way for Tommy to soak up the sunshine while staying safe.

We're so grateful to have been a part of Tommy's journey. Stories like his remind us that senior cats still have so much life, love, and personality to share, and with a little support, they can find families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives.
