Pine
Pine and his brother, Cedar, came from an incredibly difficult situation after their owner passed away and a hoarding situation was discovered. Thankfully, they were taken in by Dogwood Animal Rescue (formerly Dorset Rescue Kittens), where they were given the vet care they needed and the opportunity to find a new, loving home. Purrfect Seniors worked with Dogwood Animal Rescue to sponsor Pine’s adoption fee and the ongoing cost of his prescription urinary food.
When their adopters came across Pine online, they immediately knew he was the cat they had been looking for. They also knew they couldn't separate him from Cedar. Thanks to Pine's sponsorship, they were able to adopt both brothers together, ensuring they could stay by each other's side as they began this new chapter.
Pine was understandably nervous when he first arrived in his new home, but with patience and love, he has truly blossomed. Today, he and Cedar are thriving together alongside their senior feline sister, Sophie. Watching the brothers settle in, grow in confidence, and enjoy life together has been incredibly rewarding. The three cats are loved endlessly. Pine even went on a trip to the park in his new stroller and the family plans to get a catio soon!
We're so thankful to have played a part in helping Pine and Cedar stay together. Stories like theirs show how sponsorships can do more than help one cat—they can keep bonded companions together and give families the opportunity to say "yes" when they otherwise might not have been able to.
