Lizzie

Lizzie, a beautiful 8 or 9 year old tortoiseshell, found her way into the loving care of SALT Rescue. Before we even learned about Lizzie, her adopter had found her. Lizzie’s adopter contacted SALT specifically looking for a cat with special needs and Bonnie told them about Lizzie, who has diabetes. Lizzie and her adopter met, and it was a purrfect match!

SALT Rescue then contacted Purrfect Seniors for assistance with Lizzie’s adoption. As the cost of diabetes medication is expensive, we were happy to support Lizzie’s adopter by sponsoring the cost of her adoption fee.

Lizzie has settled right into her new home. She is very loving, silly, and fun to be around. We are especially happy to see a diabetic cat welcomed into a home without hesitation. As a senior with special needs, Lizzie faced double the stigma and typically lowered adoption rate. Thankfully, she did not wait long at all!
