Pumpkin & Milo

Pumpkin and Milo are very special boys. Their owned passed away in March 2025 and they were scheduled to be euthanized. A caring Veterinary Technician called rescues to try and find them a placement. Arthur Animal Rescue was able to take them in, and saved the boys from being euthanized!

The boys received the vet care that they very much needed. Milo was diagnosed with diabetes and was started on medication. Pumpkin had surgery for a lump on his eye and was diagnosed with chronic congestion and arthritis. After they had not been diagnosed for many months, Arthur Animal Rescue reached out to Purrfect Seniors for assistance. We offered to sponsor their adoption fees and the cost of their medications to help remove financial barriers. We also consistently promoted them and advocated for the adoption of senior cats, bonded pairs, and cats with medical needs.

We all waited for the right home to come along. Some applications did come through, but some they only wanted to adopt one cat and others just stopped responding. Eventually, their wait hit the 500 day mark. Thankfully, the boys’ future adopter found them online and applied to adopt them! When they went to meet the boys, they had an instant connection. We were all waiting for this day and couldn’t have been happier for them and their adopter!

A huge thank you to Arthur Animal Rescue for saving Pumpkin and Milo from euthanasia and caring for them throughout their long wait. An especially huge thank you also goes to their incredibly dedicated foster home, who loved and cared for these boys for all this time. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better support system for them.

We’re so happy that Purrfect Seniors could play a role in making today possible by sponsoring their adoption fees and medications. Pumpkin and Milo faced several factors that can make finding a home more challenging — they’re seniors, they’re a pair, they require ongoing medications, and Milo is a black cat. Each of these can be a barrier to adoption, but they have officially found their forever family. We’re so happy to say that they made it!
